Obtaining genetically modified winter wheat plants with partial suppression of the prolin dehydrogenase gene

نویسندگان

چکیده

Aim. Production of genetically modified plants new promising winter wheat genotypes with partial suppression the proline dehydrogenase gene in vitro culture and determination content transgenic control plants. Methods. Agrobacterium-mediated transformation vitro, molecular genetic analysis; biochemical content; mathematical statistics. Results. Using method callus cultures wheat, carrying a double-stranded RNA suppressor were obtained. The frequency use LBA 4404 strain studied was 1.7-2.0 %, AGL0 strain, it 2.0-2.3 %. It established that reduced activity are characterized by significantly higher free L-proline compared to control. Conclusions. relatively greater efficiency using for obtaining is shown. presence ProDH leads an increase level accumulation.

Gene Flow in Genetically Modified Wheat

Understanding gene flow in genetically modified (GM) crops is critical to answering questions regarding risk-assessment and the coexistence of GM and non-GM crops. In two field experiments, we tested whether rates of cross-pollination differed between GM and non-GM lines of the predominantly self-pollinating wheat Triticum aestivum. In the first experiment, outcrossing was studied within the fi...

Transgene × Environment Interactions in Genetically Modified Wheat

BACKGROUND The introduction of transgenes into plants may cause unintended phenotypic effects which could have an impact on the plant itself and the environment. Little is published in the scientific literature about the interrelation of environmental factors and possible unintended effects in genetically modified (GM) plants. METHODS AND FINDINGS We studied transgenic bread wheat Triticum ae...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Environmental Risk Assessment of Genetically Modified Plants

In order to fulfil the requirement of the guidance notes supplementing Annex II to Directive 2001/18/EC on the deliberate release into the environment of genetically modified organisms the current environmental risk assessment of genetically modified plants needs to be improved. By adopting a quantitative and predictive environmental risk assessment methodology it is possible to aid decis ion m...

A decade of European field trials with genetically modified plants.

This article analyzes the development of notifications of genetically modified plants field trials in the European Union from 1991 to 2001, based on the data collected at the European level in the Summary Notification Information Format database. During this time period, a total of 1687 field trial notifications were received. The number of field trial notifications dropped by 76% between 1998 ...
